Born in 1984 and a true Florentine at heart, Edoardo Sandri embarked on his bartending journey in 2004, working at various venues across his hometown. Although initially pursuing a degree in literature, Edoardo decided to follow his true passion – mixology – just a few exams before graduation. After honing his skills in Rome and Fiesole, he joined the team at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze in late 2008, first in the banqueting department and eventually finding his home at the Atrium Bar. Under the mentorship of Vice Bar Manager Luca Angeli and former Bar Manager Massimiliano Prilli, Edoardo's passion and curiosity for mixology flourished, leading to his current role as Head Bartender. Edoardo Sandri’s passion, which guests can witness every day from afternoon until late at night, is his craft. His cocktail of choice is the ultra-classic and quintessentially Italian Negroni, an indirect inspiration for his decision to always avoid the ordinary. Edoardo spends much of his time looking for the perfect, often unconventional ingredient, sourced both locally and internationally. His creativity knows no bounds; from kitchen ingredients and fruit juices to clam water and truffles, he draws inspiration from a wide array of flavors to craft cocktails that evoke sensations, tastes, and imagery. Edoardo has represented the Atrium Bar at several prestigious international mixology events and received numerous accolades throughout his career. In 2018, he brought the Atrium Bar to London as the only Italian bar featured at Cocktail in the City, one of the world's leading mixology events. He has also been a prominent participant in Florence Cocktail Week, earning multiple awards for best drink. Thanks to his vision and the efforts of his team, the Atrium Bar has been recognized in the Discovery section of the renowned World’s 50 Best Bars list since 2021. In 2022, Edoardo was named Bartender of the Year at the Bar Awards by Bargiornale, Italy’s leading industry magazine. In 2023, he accepted the award for Best Cocktail Bar of the Year on behalf of his team and continued to gain recognition, with the Atrium Bar being named Best Italian Hotel Bar at the Roma Bar Show and listed among the top ten Regional Top Honorees at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail event in the U.S. Additionally, the Atrium Bar made it into the Top 500 Bars ranking, reaching position 74.
